TBAR makes NO guarantee as to the health or temperament of any of the dogs or cats listed on this referral page.  When adopting any pet, be informed and ask questions about the pet's health status.  Ask for verification of vaccination and heartworm preventative.  Be aware of temperament and ask questions to verify the pet will fit into your family. To avoid potentially costly problems, be an informed adopter and ask your vet about important health and temperament issues before adopting an animal.

Hershey
24 months old, neutered boy,
Catahoula / Shepherd, Brindle color

Hershey is a love! He adores people and just wants too play like any puppy would. He has lots of energy, so if you need a running partner or a ranch dog, Hershey might be just right for you. He's great with other dogs and with kids too! Walks well on a leash.

Boone
Australian Shepherd

3 yr old neutered boy

Boone is being listed because he is a very  good dog that is now in a tough situation. A relative passed away suddenly that resides in Washington County and when he did it left Boone and his companion Jill  without his life long friend. He is good with kids of all ages and would make for a great cattle dog.

Sugar - ADOPTED - Thank You!
Rhodesian Ridgeback / Labrador

1 yr old spayed girl

Sugar was 3 days from starving to death. She had given every thing she had to keep her 7 puppies alive and was skin and bones. She was rescued by a Good Samaritan and brought back to life. All of Sugar's puppies have found homes and now it's Sugar's turn.

Sugar's mom is a Rhodesian Ridgeback and Labrador mix. Her dad was an Australian Shepherd. It explains why Sugar is so smart! She has had all her shots including rabies and is spayed.  She is very well behaved and will go into dog yard and/or kennel on voice command.  Sugar loves to RUN and be silly so she would love a big backyard or a home in the country. She can be loose if you are outside with her as she will not run away.  She wants to be where you are.

Stevie
1-2 yr Labrador girl

Stevie isn't for every body. In fact, Stevie isn't the dog most people would want. Only a very special kind of heart will say yes to Stevie.

Stevie was found wandering the streets in Bryan in the beginning of January. Truly wandering because when a Good Samaritan took her in to the vet, it was discovered she had an untreated infection in her eyes that caused permanent damage. Stevie has limited vision and as if that's not enough of a handicap, she's also deaf. Poor Stevie. Most people take one look at Stevie and aren't interested. They can't see past her limitations to see her wonderful heart and personality.

Stevie would LOVE a forever home where she can learn her surroundings and enjoy life. She is very sweet and will fall asleep in your lap where she feels safe. She will sleep quietly on your bed with you (and steal your pillow if she can). She can live in a house with stairs and she learns her surroundings pretty quickly. Stevie does need a fenced yard so she can be safe outside.

Stevie is a very loving dog and needs someone with a special heart that can see past her disabilities and love her.
