Shadow's Story: Law enforcement got a call about a dog who wandered up on someone's porch with an arrow in his leg. Shadow had sores all over his head and chest and he also had an arrow going into his elbow and through his leg. It appears that he was used as a bait dog and when he was losing they decided to shoot him in the heart with an arrow. Lucky for Shadow, they missed his chest and shot him in the leg ;and he ran away and found someone nice enough to call and get him help. As a final blow, Shadow has tested positive for heartworms and is now being treated. 

Shadow has not shown any aggression to any people or other animals. When he sees other animals he just wags his tail. It is everyone's best guess that Shadow was someone's pet that was stolen and used as bait to teach fighting pits to be aggressive. He liked coming in the house and other than lifting his leg he has been happy to be here and see all the other dogs.

Just look at his sweet expression, not a mean bone in his sweet little body. He is little too, can't be more than 30 pounds at the most.
