ChiefChief
Chief was seized with 2 other horses for severe neglect. He was all bones and could not stand, even with lots of people helping. TBAR spent the night in the pasture with Chief, hoping he would be able rise in the morning. But his weakened body could not recover. Now Chief is at Peace with all the food he can eat and lots of love. He will never suffer again.

Cowboy
Sometimes, no matter how hard we try to save them, it’s an animal’s time to go. Such was the case with Cowboy. Rescued from neglect, we’re thankful he new love, care and happiness in the end. Our hearts are heavy that he left us so soon.

Daisy1

Daisy – TBar #H085
This pony suffered from moon blindness, but found love and healing at her foster home. Daisy passed over the Rainbow Bridge from a sudden, severe case of colic. Now she can see again.

Little Bit and Ben 3

Lil Bit and Big Ben
Lil Bit was so tiny, even for a mini, and Big Ben was so big. And yet they were best friends. They were the favorites of visitors to TBAR and will be deeply missed. They passed within months of each other. Lil Bit died suddenly as can happen with tiny minis. Big Ben was older and died peacefully while fighting a serious illness.

Sadie2

Sadie – TBar #D246
Sadie knew it was her time, so she laid down by her pups, Jasmine and Marcus and went to sleep. We’re comforted that  she knew lots of love in the end.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAVictoria – TBar #H047
This graceful, elderly lady was rescued from the auction house and lived out her last years with lots of love and care. She was featured in ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

whitehorse1Toot – TBar #H090
Toot was seized by law enforcement and was severely starved. TBAR and the vets did everything they could to save Toot, but his poor body couldn’t come back. It broke our hearts to see such a young horse suffer so; and his story still pains us. At least now he is at Peace with all the food he can eat and lots of love.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA T-Bar Name:  Clyde T-Bar Number: D282 Weight: 86 lbs
Sex: Neutered Boy Age on 12/2007 4-5 years
Breed: Labrador Retriever   CRATE-TRAINED/HOUSEBROKEN
Color: Yellow
ADOPTED – Thank You! Location: College Station, Texas
Description: Hank and Clyde were found running loose. After no one stepped up to claim these dogs, it was clear they were dumped. They were in good shape and their fur showed evidence of wearing collars. Hank and Clyde did very poorly at the shelter, and became depressed. Not surprising since they were obviously someone’s pets. A foster home stepped forward, so TBAR was able to rescue them from the shelter. Clyde lost significant weight while at the shelter; and is already eating better in his loving foster home. This picture was taken when Hank and Clyde were first pulled off the streets. Both dogs are friendly and affectionate towards people, dogs, cats and kids.  They have both been micro-chipped.  Also, they are both excellent on a leash. There is no problem at all walking both of them at the same time.

MaverickWeb
T-Bar Name:  Maverick T-Bar Number: D201 Weight: 55 lbs
Sex:  Neutered Male Age on 12/2006:  2 years
Breed:  Shepherd – on the small side
Color:  Black with white highlights
ADOPTED – Thank You! Location: Brenham, Texas
Description: Maverick was lost, desperately searching for the family he loved so dearly. It all happened so quickly. One minute he was enjoying a truck ride with his family, and the next minute he’s standing bewildered at the side of the road as they speed off without him. “They must not realize I’m not with them”, he must have thought. He waited patiently for them to return, but they didn’t. So he went looking. And that’s how Maverick was found – without his family, but wanting one so badly. Maverick is a beautiful, black Shepherd mix with white splashed across his chest, and on the smaller side, like a border collie vs. a full-size shepherd. Someone spent time training him because he has great manners – walks well on a leash, comes when called, and sits when asked. He would do anything to please you. He’s a little older so he’s past the chewing stage and calmer than some of the younger dogs. Maverick is neutered and had his shots. All he needs now is that special someone who will love and care for him for the rest of his life.  For more information, call TBAR today at 936-878-2349

Just in the nick of time, Kim was spotted and rescued by a TBAR officer and whisked out of danger. This 8 month old, Blue Heeler / Jack Russell mix is a friendly, playful little girl that wants someone to run & play with & no matter what, will love her always. Breed:  Long-haired Dachshund/ Cocker Spaniel
Color:  Black with curly hair
ADOPTED – Thank You! Location: Washington, Texas
Description“I just want to be somebody’s baby” is what Midnight says. Midnight’s story starts off wonderfully – he was loved and adored by an elderly couple. He was their one and only baby and enjoyed being with them, sitting next to them on the sofa, sleeping in bed with them at night, and being adored. But then the man got sick, and unfortunately for Midnight, that meant a new home. We don’t know what happened next, only that he was found wandering the streets alone and scared. Midnight came to True Blue Anima Rescue (TBAR) where he is looking for one last forever home. This adorable, 4-5 year old, black, long-haired dachshund boy (with a little bit of Cocker Spaniel), loves to go on walks, ride in the car, and just be by your side. He has the cutest trick when you give him a treat, and his deep, dark eyes emanate love. Midnight isn’t fond of cats, so he would like a cat-free home where he can have your undivided attention. Midnight is neutered and had all his shots.

PuddingNew T-Bar Name: Pudding T-Bar #: D026 Weight: 40 lbs
Sex: Spayed  Female Age on 9/2006: 2 yrs
Breed: Staffordshire Terrier/ Boxer
Color: Tan with white and black markings
ADOPTED – Thank You! Location: Washington, TX
Description: Some of us like vanilla pudding, some like chocolate, some even like our pudding mixed. The Pudding found at True Blue Animal Rescue is a mix that shakes and wiggles and gives you that warm fuzzy feeling. This Pudding wants to stay with some happy person through thick or thin.Pudding was recently adopted and thought she found her forever home. She got along great with the other dogs and behaved beautifully, even in her crate. But her new ‘mom’ found she didn’t have enough time for Pudding… Poor Pudding…

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this girl. Pudding is a friendly and affectionate Staffordshire/Boxer mix. She walks well on a leash and sits when you ask her to. She would be a great indoor pet or outdoor pet. When she is outside she will stay right with you and come when she’s called; and she’s crate trained. She has been spayed. She’s in perfect health, beautiful, and ready for her forever home – the LAST one.

UPDATE 3/2007: Pudding was adopted and reunited with her sibling, Honey. They are so happy to be together and in a loving, forever home! THANK YOU!

Breed:  Labrador / American Staffordshire Terrier
Color:  Dark brown
ADOPTED – Thank You! Location: Brenham, Texas

A kind soul found him and got him all checked out. Even though he’s a bit banged up, hair grows and he’ll heal up fine. Update: 3/2007: Benji has grown up into a stunning, chocolate Labrador. His dark brown color and charming personality make him a real find. He is now neutered and weighs about 55 lbs.

Todd T-Bar Name: Todd T-Bar Number: D221 Weight: 15 lbs
Sex: Neutered Male  Age on 3/2007:  8 months
Breed:  Beagle mix
Color:  Orange and black with white highlights
ADOPTED – Thank You! Location: Washington, Texas
Description: Todd was out front of a little store between Navasota and Washington begging someone to feed it or love it, when Melanie, the founder of TBAR, saw him. Todd was walking up to people and everyone seemed worried about him and some were even asking if anyone knew who he belonged to and nobody did. Then, low and behold, after everyone else passed by him and left him, and he came up to Melanie at her car. Now he’s safe at TBAR. He’s a little guy, probably weighs about 15 pounds. He has all his adult teeth but he isn’t very old, about 8 months or so. He is thin, and certainly couldn’t have survived in a parking lot for the night. He could easily have been hit by a car or eaten! He’s a beagle mix , named Todd, from Todd and Copper.

Dogs Adopted Jan-Feb 2007

T-Bar’s Jan-Feb 2007 Success Stories
Dogs that Found their Forever Homes *

 RubyWeb T-Bar Name: Ruby T-Bar #: D212 Weight: 55 lbs
Sex: Spayed  Female Age on 1/2007: 2 yrs
Breed: Red Hound
Color: Orange/Red
ADOPTED – Thank You! Location: Houston, TX
Description“You can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl” Ruby was rescued near Hempstead where she’s lucky she didn’t get hit by a car. Her rescuers adopted her and she thrived. She’s a beautiful, orange-red color that doesn’t show in this picture (see a full color picture at www.tbar.org ) Her family recently moved into the city and the small backyard  with a waist-high fence just doesn’t work for Ruby. She’s used to wide open spaces. Ruby is 2 years old and is great with the other dogs and their baby. Ruby needs a loving home  in the country where she again has room to swim and play.  She is totally house-broken and very smart.  She can fetch and swim and is extremely good natured. She is spayed and had her shots too.

 sedona T-Bar Name: Sedona T-Bar #: D096 Weight: 30 lbs
Sex:  Spayed Female Age on 1/2007: 2 yrs
Breed:  Shepherd / Labrador
Color:  Gold with black highlights
ADOPTED – Thank You!  Location: Magnolia, Texas

Description: Sedona has found her self-worth. Once a scared dog with low self-esteem, Sedona is now happy and energetic again. Thanks to a loving foster home that reminded her  that she was a beautiful dog, deserving of a loving forever home, Sedona loves life again. She gets along great with other dogs and dog-savvy cats. She’s great with kids and loves to curl up in your lap. It’s not hard to imagine how Sedona lost her confidence – she had a home once, a family of her own; but then one day she found herself tied and forgotten in the backyard. And so she felt worthless. But not any more!

If you’re looking for a stunning, intelligent dog to adopt, Sedona will repay you by being your loyal companion always. If you know what it’s like to lose your confidence and then find yourself again, then Sedona might be just right for you

tazWeb T-Bar Name:  Taz T-Bar Number: D205 Weight: 15 lbs
Sex:  Boy  Puppy Age on 12/2006:  3  months
Breed:  Labrador / Boxer
Color:  Tan and Black with white highlights
ADOPTED – Thank You! Location: Washington, Texas
Description: “Look into my eyes”, Taz seems to be saying. “Look deeply. You are falling in love with me and want to adopt me”, he continues. This striking brown, tan and white Boxer/Labrador puppy has a hypnotizing look and a sense of humor that shows in his playful attitude and his ability to make you laugh at his antics. Taz’s story in not unique, sadly – the family packed up and moved and left Taz and his siblings behind. Fortunately, the puppies were rescued from their dire situation.  Like any puppy, Taz has plenty of energy and would love attention, walks and play. Taz and Cliff are 4 months old and will be handsome, big dogs. They’ve had their vaccinations; and each comes with a certificate for a neuter.

SWNew T-Bar Name: Sweet William T-Bar Number: D180 Weight: 20 lbs
Sex: Neutered Male  Age on 8/2006:  adult
Breed:  Beagle
Color:  Tan, white, and black
ADOPTED – Thank You! Location: Cameron, Texas
Description: How often do you find an animal so good-natured that his name is Sweet William? This tan, white, and black Beagle is very laid back and happy just to hang out with you on the porch watching the world go by. Unlike many Beagles who like to bay at the moon – Sweet William is a quiet boy. He’s willing to get along with everyone – including other dogs, and even cats. Incredibly, this loving animal was found lost on the side of a busy road. He’s currently living at a TBAR foster home but very much wants to find a forever home with a good family. If you are looking for a really special buddy and companion, this friendly boy could be the one. He is already neutered and has his shots, and is ready to go home with you.

MaverickWeb T-Bar Name:  Maverick T-Bar Number: D201 Weight: 55 lbs
Sex:  Neutered Male Age on 12/2006:  2 years
Breed:  Shepherd
Color:  Black with white highlights
ADOPTED – Thank You! Location: Washington, Texas
