We love happy endings and this is a special one! Sweet Mandy lived at Tbar in a kennel for years. She’s a shy dog and looks like a greyhound / shepherd mix. We were starting to worry that she’d spend her life in a kennel when someone special stepped up and offered to foster. As her foster mom said, “Mandy wasn’t what I was looking for but she ended up being exactly what I needed in my life”

Christmas Cat Willow

Pet of the week: Cher (cat)
Pet of the week: Cher! This beautiful cat with was raised indoors from a very small kitten and is very tame and gentle. So much so that she may crawl on your leg in the bath tub and take a drink! She loves to be held and loves to sleep on you. She is very playful and energetic with a lot of personality.She enjoys petting.

Success Story Update: Junebug!
Who remembers Junebug? Several years ago we received a call from law enforcement asking us if we could take this horse. She was emaciated and had both old and new injuries. You can still see where she must have been hit so hard her ribs were broken. We named this sweet mare Junebug. Despite all the hardships she had endured this mare remained gentle and loving. Eventually she gained the weight but her story wasn’t over till her very special person found her and adopted her. Just look at the love between these two.
Thank you for adopting her and taking such good care of her Madison! Here’s what Madison has to say about Junebug now:
“She still loves children, she loves to go full speed when you ride, she loves carrots apples and the apple flavored treats we give her, she also loves cantaloupe rind too, shes not scared of guys anymore either!”

Success Story: Betty
Poor Betty has been through a lot. She started out at a shelter in Wharton headed toward euthanasia when a foster home agreed to take her. They ended up moving and couldn’t take her with them so she went into a boarding kennel. Poor Betty is small dog aggressive making her harder to find a home for. We weren’t sure how things would end up for Betty when Baileys’ adopter, Melody, contacted us about fostering and possibly adopting if it works out. When she came to meet some of the other dogs Betty had just returned from boarding. She was skinny and sad but Melody decided to give her a chance anyway. Lucky Betty, Bailey and Melody!!
Stumpy Goes to School!
Today was a big day for Stumpy! It was his first day of school. He’ll be going to First Step Training in Brenham for the next two weeks so he can earn his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification. Once he’s certified as a CGC he’ll be able to go to elementary schools so children can read to him. This wonderful program will help children become confident readers while learning compassion and empathy for animals! Stumpy will be True Blue Animal Rescue’s first CGC reading dog.
Success Story: Gracie
Remember Gracie? She was the boxer mix that was pulled from BARC. She was balding, sad and miserable with no chance for survival till a kind hearted person pulled her and rehabilitated her through True Blue Animal Rescue. After her rehab she came to TBAR Ranch until her forever family found here. We received these pictures reminding us that it’s been one year since she was adopted! Thanks for the pictures Sherrie!

Success Story: Star
Remember Star? she was in the streets, alone and afraid. Lots of people walked past her but nobody would help till Gisele saw her and couldn’t get her out of her mind. . She went back and took it upon herself to rescue this poor hairless dog. She treated her demodex and showed her what it was like to be loved. Gisele planned to put her up for adoption when she was healthy but before too long it was obvious that a bond had been made and Star was there to stay. Just look at Miss Star with Gisele on vacation. You can see the happiness and love. It is with joy in our hearts that we are announcing this foster failure. Hooray for Gisele and Star. Please consider fostering or adopting. Success Story: Lexi!
Look who went to a new home this week! Lexi, now named Daisy went to live with another True Blue Rescue dog, Sully! This is a great family and so far Daisy is fitting right in. She can’t believe that all those toys could be for her! Foster homes are nice but all rescue animals dream of a forever home all their own. We have a lot more puppies looking for homes.
