Animal Adoption: Honey

Success Story Wednesday True Blue Animal Rescue Dog Adopted Honey

Success Story Wednesday!

Here is Honey, who has found her forever home! You can see her here showering her new mom with kisses. Any time her new mom left the car she would cry for her – she knew they belonged together!

Honey was a female dachshund mix who was rescued from a shelter by one of our TBAR volunteers. This sweet young puppy quickly earned the heart of her foster Mom’s own mother, who decided to adopt Honey! It is always a great treat when a rescued dog gets to stay in the family.

Hooray for Honey! Thanks Shellie for rescuing her!

Pet of the Week: Sonador

Sonador

Hey guys, now we have a horse as pet of the week for this week. This would make a good horse to refresh his riding and should be able to train her for anything they want. Sonador is an 8 year old mare who was starved and left tied to a tree. She has now gained weight and is ready for adoption. She’s easy to halter, lead, brush and pet. She has been ridden but will need some refresher training. She is very wiling to please and would make a great trail horse for anyone willing to spend some time with her. T-BAR is a no-kill rescue. Not only do we like having our animals adopted out, we also are in dire need of foster homes. That way we can help more animals out there, especially with winter coming. Please save a life by adopting a pet, instead of buying a pet and please have all your pets spayed and neutered. It is the right thing to do. If you are interested on where you can help or to look at all that is availble to either adopt or foster, please go to www.t-bar.org and see all the animals that deserve a second chance and fulfilled life full of love, email [email protected] or call (936)878-2349 and one of our volunteers will get back to you as soon as possible. Adoption Fee: Please email [email protected] for adoption fee!

Website Fixed & Updated
This year we faced some challenges with our website, but we are ever grateful to our volunteer and computer programming expert, Jason Moore, for his work in fixing the site! We were able to keep ourPetfinder page and Facebook page updated while we dealt with the website issues, but we are very glad to have our “online home base” back up and running, complete with a new facelift! Let us know what you think, and if you run into any issues please message [email protected]

Paper Newsletter
Have you received our paper newsletter mail-out? Our volunteers work hard on this campaign every year to deliver the best in annual TBAR news right to the mailboxs of all current and lifetime TBAR members. If you want to be sure you get one next year, please make sure to pay your yearly membership fee and update us on any address changes!

Volunteer Opportunities
We are always looking for new volunteers to help us with current admin tasks, or to suggest new fundraising ideas. TBAR is run by volunteers and off of donations and grants, and we can not continue to grow without admin volunteers and new foster homes every year. If you have room to foster animals, or if you have fundraising or volunteer experience, or are just looking for a way to help out the animals while becoming a part of a hard-working team, please contact us! We can’t wait to have you on board!

Pet of the Week: Mandy

Mandy1 (1)

Mandy – seen here enjoying her True Blue Animal Rescue (TBAR) foster home – didn’t always have it so easy. She was abandoned as a puppy and would not have survived if she hadn’t been rescued by a good Samaritan. Mandy is a beautiful Grey Hound/Shepherd mix with a light tan coat accented by darker ears. She is gentle, attentive, and highly intelligent. Mandy is past the puppy stage, but is young and still loves to play. She is very friendly and loves attention and pets. She also loves stuffed toys and will run around the house playing with them. If you are interested in any horse, dog or cat, please go to www.t-bar.org and see all the animals that deserve a second chance and fulfilled life full of love, email [email protected] or call (936)878-2349and one of our volunteers will get back to you as soon as possible. Please email [email protected] for adoption fee!

True Blue Animal Rescue Event: Brenham Christmas Stroll

TBAR at Brenham Christmas Stroll 2014

The Brenham’s Downtown Christmas Stroll & Lighted Parade falls on the 2nd Friday after Thanksgiving each year. TBAR is excited to be participating in the parade with a float this year!

The Downtown Lighted Parade & Ice Skating is Friday, December 5 from 4pm – 7pm. It kicks off with the lighting of the Courthouse Square Christmas trees and continues with the parade through downtown with special guest, Santa Claus, showing up on a fire truck at the end!

Santa will be taking photos at the Gazebo, and there will be a 2,000 square foot synthetic ice rink, FREE, on the corner of Alamo and Douglass (across from Must Be Heaven) – skates are provided onsite. There will also be dance performances, live entertainment, Jingle Bell Market, and ‘Sip, Shop and Stroll’ in the downtown shops.

TBAR Success Story: Moose

TBAR Adopted Dog Moose

Our Throwback Success Story is Moose, affectionally known as a foster failure.

His foster mother had to bottle feed him when his mom was hit by a car. After many long nights feeding baby Moose, his foster mother and family fell in love with him and he fit right in with the other dogs in his new family.

Congrats to Moose and his new family!

Educational Riding Experience

TrueBlueAnimalRescueRidingExperienceWithAJ

True Blue Animal Rescue is pleased to begin offering Educational Riding Experiences at our Foster Homes! For $20 an experienced rider and TBAR volunteer will help you with the riding basics while you ride for an hour. Donations go toward food and health care for the TBAR and ABLE horses. Email [email protected] for more info!

Fall Family Fun Day 2014!

Another one of our Animals Bridge Love and Educations (ABLE) days was Family fun day on Nov 1st. The kids enjoyed horse rides, a hay ride and feeding and petting animals. Nothing brings us more joy than sharing our rescue animals with children. This opportunity for a family to come out and enjoy a few hours at Tbar Ranch is one of our favorites! These pictures say it all!

Donations: A Picnic Table and Lots of Treats!

True Blue Animal Rescue would like to take the time to feature two amazing members today. Thank you Amy Hemsell for donating a picnic table for our Able Camp and to Diane Deitz for donating horse feed, dog food, horse treats and dog treats. Rescue is stressful, heartbreaking and exhausting work but when members take the time to make special purchases for our animals it reminds us that we are not alone! Having the support of volunteers and members makes all the difference in the world. A great big thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Donations for Eddie!

Today’s feature is a young lady who asked for donations of pet food and treats for rescue animals instead of presents for her Birthday! Here she is presenting some of what she received to one of our rescue dogs, Eddie. As you can see, Eddie was surprised and very happy to partake. Emily’s birthday wish came true when she got to come out and meet the animals she is helping at True Blue Animal Rescue and to give some of the treats to Eddie. I am so happy to know there are such good hearted children out there who are willing to give rather than receive! Thank you Elizabeth Price for raising such a wonderful young lady!
